Have you ever been in the situation that you wanted to offer your help to someone but just didn’t know how to? Maybe you weren’t sure if someone wanted your help, or maybe you were afraid that if you offered your help you’d be over asked. I have been there!
I have thought of a simple, but effective way to tackle that issue: the ‘ I can help you with..’ system.
How does it work?
You go to free downloads and look for the " I can help you with card system" you can also print the envelopes, they are made to fit this system.
Tip: print the cards on thicker paper, the envelopes can be printed on regular printer paper.
Cut the cards
1 card you can use as a ‘regular’ card, you write your message on it.
on the 'I can help you with 'card you write down what you can do to help, for example: take you out for a coffee, cook you a meal, pick up your kids from
sports on Thursdays, fold your laundry, bake you a cake, etc.
You put the " I can help you with card" in the smaller envelope, write your name and adress on that one.
you put that, with the other card in the bigger envelope
You write the name of the person you are offering your help to on the envelop and bring it or mail it
The receiver will open the envelope, read the card with your message and see the “ I can help you with’ card.
He can easily put a cross in front of the thing he would love/needs the most.
Then he can put the card in the envelope that has your address on it and give/mail it back to you.
You now know what help is most needed, it is simply a matter of making an appointment on when you will be offering your help and you are good to go!
